We Love FREE Resources!

We are so excited about the FREE resources we're offering to Financial Peace University members. These resources absolutely revolutionize the FPU experience and take it to a whole new level!

The Member Resource Center (MRC), is a place where currently enrolled FPU members can come throughout the duration of their class to take advantage of tons of free tools, content, tips, and audio and video clips that coincide with each week's lesson. Members will get powerful inspiration and practical information every step of the way to help them complete the Financial Peace process.

To get started, go to www.daveramsey.com/fpumember and type in the class code. The instructions are basic and easy to follow. Don't miss out on this incredible, FREE resource!

Back to School

Not only is autumn the time for the kiddos to get back to class - it's the perfect time for you to get back to class, as well!

Don't miss this opportunity to get people involved in FPU. After all that summer heat and fun, September and October are great months to offer people refreshing change and focus.

And, after the "Back to School" sales, checkbooks are begging to be refocused, too!

Make sure you get your classes listed on the web now! The longer the dates are up, the more likely you are to have people show for class!

Catalyst

Can you imagine what it would be like to come together with ten or twelve thousand people who want to make a difference for the Kingdom of God for the next generation? What if you could sit in a packed auditorium with other believers who are serious about change and listen as internationally recognized speakers challenge and encourage you?

Mark your calendars for October 3 - 5 of this year. Catalyst is coming!

For a complete list of the labs and lab speakers, click here.

Because Dave is one of Catalyst's sponsors this year, our team will be at the event in full-force. You'll see us at the outdoor experience, at our booth inside the arena, and really all over the place. Be sure to stop by to say hello. We'd love to see you there!

A New Momentum

Did you know that, according to The Barna Group, only 2.7% of evangelical Christians tithe (tithe equaling 10% of income)? It's not because people don't want to tithe - it's because they simply don't see how they can afford it.

Our new Momentum program is designed to help churches get out of debt and cash-flow everything by teaching the congregation to beat debt and give generiously.

We have two Momentum Workshops scheduled for this fall. The workshops, held in Nashville, begin your Momentum process and launch you into the steps your church needs to get out of debt, cash-flow the budget, and produce lifetime, generous givers. Here are the dates:

  • Sunday, October 14 - Wednesday, October 17
  • Sunday, November 11 - Wednesday, November 14

If your church is ready for a church-wide initiative teaching Biblical Lordship in personal finances, contact David Holderman.

We look forward to working with those of you who are ready for this huge and grand adventure!

It's time to get your church ready for serious MOMENTUM!

Coordinator Spotlight

The congregation at First Baptist North Mobile, in Saraland, Alabama, is ecstatic about the hope and success FPU is continually bringing them.

Here's what First Baptist's FPU Coordinator, James Woosley, had to say about Financial Peace University:

"My wife and I needed FPU as badly as any of our students (and still do!). After adopting our son from Taiwan in 2005, we had more than $66,000 in credit card debt (at least they couldn't repossess him!). About three months after Ian came home, my father told me about this guy on the radio named Dave. I looked him up online, tried out the podcast and was hooked.

"Since then, I've led four FPU classes at our church. My students have paid off over $300,000 in debt, saved more than $116,000, and destroyed more than 150 credit cards! And we're not stopping there - we have two more classes starting this month!

"Although I wouldn't normally consider myself a 'people person,' there's no denying how easily my heart connects with my students. We've had several couples become debt free except for their homes, and one couple even paid off their mortgage before graduation!

"Last year, we had an engaged couple from outside our church join FPU. In order to set them off on the right path, the bride's mother offered to pay for the couple's entire honeymoon...if they graduated from FPU first! The couple didn't just show up - they worked hard and made incredible sacrifices during the class. They totally got it (and I'm sure they had a great, debt-free honeymoon)!

"Personally, Heather and I have paid off two-thirds of our debt since beginning FPU classes in January 2006. We're on a path to have our house paid off around the time we turn 40, and my dream is that my kids will never borrow a dime...not on a credit card, not for college, and not even for a house.

"Even more dramatic is how the course has brought me closer to God. I became a Christian in January 2003. Learning and applying the financial principles outlined in FPU has strengthened my knowledge and faith, and teaching FPU has made me a familiar face around the church (though some fear my scissors and blender!).

"My advice to other coordinators: be creative and make the class your own - have fun!"
